Check out our video of the Big Dog Motorcycles turbo Ridgeback chopper!
We made this video in early Spring, 2022. The bike was parked in the Big Dog Motorcycles factory, looking pretty and doing nothing, so I wheeled it to the parking lot, grabbed the DSLR and captured some videos with a 50mm f1.8 lens.
The engine on the Turbo Ridgeback is an S&S 107. The turbo was custom built with various parts.
Bike owner and Big Dog President Matt Moore spent 13-years building this Big Dog Turbo Ridgeback with help from past company fabricator and friend Pete Rumschlag.
Moving the turbo bike around the shop, I’ve built forearm strength pulling the clutch.
Matt explained that it is a racing clutch with heavy duty springs. He then told me that it is not the most comfortable bike to ride in the city.
The Ridgeback fired right up when we shot the video.
Notice the hard launch with Matt, the owner. This bike can get off the line proper with the right rider and it could kill the wrong rider just as fast.
Notice the rear wheel as Matt dumps the clutch. It as no problem breaking loose with the stiff springs, turbo, and rider.
The handlebar mounting is one of my favorite aspects of this custom Big Dog.
The Turbo Ridgeback is one of many cool elements of working in the Big Dog factory. We have several concept and test bikes in production right now.
I’m looking forward to sharing more of the cool elements at Big Dog with blog posts, social media, videos and pictures. Check back often for more cool Big Dog content!
