Bike Porn – Walking Around Downtown Sturgis

Here’s a little bit of Bike Porn from Sturgis, 2016 –

At the end of my trip to Sturgis with the Big Dog Motorcycles factory crew, we all departed from our rental home and I headed downtown for one last round of capturing video.

Although this was my second trip to Sturgis, I did not actually make it into town the first time. Rather, we were performing a stunt show at Custer and we spent our riding time in the Black Hills.

This was my first proper Sturgis experience. I wanted to walk around and capture some images of what I saw at the rally.

My motorcycle background is stunt-riding. Our bikes were typically beat up sport bikes.

Supermotos and Harleys have started making their way into the stunt riding scene too. Although I traveled with a Harley stunts group in the past, I didn’t see anybody on one-wheel this Sturgis.

I met Big Dog Motorcycles President Matt Moore through riding in college. With my background being somewhat different than most Sturgis attendees’ I really enjoyed seeing all of the hard work, unique ideas, and completely custom bikes. Many of these concepts were new to me.

Although I’ve heard repeatedly that the bagger fad is over, I saw a lot of custom baggers. There were quite a few choppers, but at this Sturgis, they were not the most common type of bike. Personally, I prefer it that way.

My interest has really been sparked in the new big wheel bikes. My other personal favorite in this video was the Geico big wheel cafe racer. Of course, my favorite would have been a Big Dog if I had seen one.

Next time I go to Sturgis with Big Dog Motorcycles, I will add more live videos and publish them much quicker.
